Tens Across the Borders
by CHAN Sze-Wei
documentary feature, in postproduction
Tens Across the Borders tells the story of three trailblazers from the underground ballroom scenes in Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. They are inspired by the history of New York City’s Black and Latinx LGBTQIA+ communities during the 1970’s. We witness their journeys as they hold on to their found families, their dreams of connection with the ballroom culture’s American origins, and the growth of a flourishing community across Southeast Asia.
